Commitment
The commitment with the environmental protection and preservation
is in one of the main goals of Stolthaven Santos administration
because the environment is considered a great part of
our analysis, strategic planning and decision taking process.
Stolthaven has as its objective to offer our customers
quality services in storage and distribution of bulk liquids.
The compliance to all legal requirements as well as to
those defined by the customer and the adoption of environmental
pro-active attitudes aid us in the conquest of the continuous
improvement of our processes and services.
Environmental Department
Stolthaven Santos Environmental Department is the responsible
for the planning and integration of the environmental
control in the operational and administrative activities
developed in the Terminal seeking the pollution prevention
and the maintenance and preservation of the environment
integrity.
The activities developed by the environmental department
technical team involve the study and application of concepts
and technologies focused in sustainability, seeking the
improvement of the environmental performance, in the application
of environmental training and understanding, in the administration
of the environmental legal requirements applicable to
the activities of the terminal; of the solid and liquid
waste generated; of the waste water treatment system;
of the drainage of pluvial waters; of the air emissions;
of the samples of products handled; of the laboratory
environmental analysis and of the product quality.
The environment Department is the responsible for the
maintenance of the Environmental Management System of
Stolthaven Santos implemented and certificated by the
ISO 14001.
Environmental Management System
Stolthaven recognizes that the implantation of an Environmental
Management System is part of its business, being necessary
to satisfy the customer's demands and to control the aspects
and significant impacts of our activities.
Scope
The scope of the Environmental Management System contemplates
the aspects and significant impacts of the installations
and services performed for reception, handling and storage
of the customers' products.
The Environmental Management System implemented at Stolthaven
Santos is in agreement with the ISO 14001:1996.
Excellency
Considered an important process in the organizational
structure of Stolthaven, the Environmental Management
System through its Policy, Objectives, Goals and Programs,
influences the definition of strategic planning and decision
taking processes. The preservation and the search of the
excellence in the environmental area become, finally,
an aggregated value of the company, openly expressed as
one of the main objectives to be pursued by Stolthaven
Santos.
Environmental Policy
It is the commitment of Stolthaven Santos to supply our
customers with reception storage and distribution services
for bulk liquid products through a Environmental Management
System, seeking
- The prevention of the pollution at all our activities;
- The attendance to the effective legislation, at the municipal,
state, national and international levels, as well as to the recognized
industrial patterns;
- The continuous improvement of the processes and services.
The Safety and Environmental Departments at Stolthaven
Santos is the responsible the implementation of this Policy
and for the administration of Environmental Management
System, contemplating the Significant Aspects, the Objectives
and the established Environmental Goals.
