Confidence in the services sector decreased in september

The Services Confidence Index measured by FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) decreased 0.4% between August and September (from 130.8 to 130.3 points). The fall in the index was influenced by the reduction of 1.8% in the Expectations Index. But the Current Situation Index increased 1.4%.

According to what was published, the data show that, compared to the same period of 2010, there is a worsening of the general business situation and the prospects for the future are more pessimistic in the service sector. The drop in the Expectations Index was influenced by the decrease of 2.1% in the business expectations regarding future demand for their services.
